Customer Service Representative CV example

A customer service CV should show how you help people resolve problems. Identify the channels and systems you use, the kinds of enquiries you handle and how you follow an issue through to resolution. Specific examples communicate more than a list of personality traits.

Replace the role, experience and skills with your own. Keep the summary focused on the application you are making.

Work experience examples

These are sample descriptions, not a candidate’s employment history. Use them to understand the level of detail to aim for.

  • Investigated delivery and billing enquiries, recorded the actions taken in the CRM and followed up until the case was resolved.
  • Escalated complex complaints with a clear summary so specialist colleagues could continue without asking the customer to repeat details.
  • Updated help-centre answers when recurring questions revealed gaps in existing guidance.

Add evidence you can explain

Use service measures only if you know how they were calculated. If you mention satisfaction scores, give the period and context. Handling a difficult enquiry well is useful evidence even without a numerical metric.

Education and qualifications

List your relevant education and training in customer systems, products or communication. Add languages with an honest description of proficiency if they help you support customers.

Writing your first CV

Retail, hospitality, volunteering and student-facing roles can provide relevant experience. Describe listening, problem solving and following procedures using examples from work you actually did.

Before you send your application

Follow the employer’s file-format instructions. Use standard section headings and proofread names, dates and contact information. After saving your PDF, check page breaks and confirm that you can select and copy the text in a sensible order.

No template can guarantee an interview or compatibility with every recruitment system. Choose a simple layout when an employer requests one.
